It's probably the question I get asked most right after a first appointment, usually while someone is still looking in the mirror: "So when should I come back?" And it's a great question, because timing genuinely matters when it comes to waxing. Come in too soon and we can't get a clean result. Wait too long and we're essentially starting from scratch every time.
The honest answer is that it depends a little on you — but there are some solid guidelines that work for most people, and once you find your rhythm, it becomes one of those things you just don't have to think about much anymore.

The Sweet Spot for Most People: Every 4–6 Weeks

For the majority of my clients, four to six weeks between appointments is the ideal waxing schedule. This lines up with the natural hair growth cycle and gives hair enough time to reach the length the wax needs to grip — about a quarter inch — without getting so long that the removal is more uncomfortable than it needs to be. Within that range, it's worth paying attention to how your own hair grows. Some people are solidly on a four-week schedule. Others find that five or six weeks works better for them. After a few appointments, you'll start to notice your own pattern, and we can dial in the timing from there.

Why Waxing Too Soon Backfires

I occasionally have clients who want to come back after two weeks because they can see a little regrowth and it's bothering them. I completely understand the impulse — but if the hair isn't long enough, the wax simply can't remove it effectively. We'd end up going over the same spots multiple times, which is harder on the skin and still won't get everything.
The better move is to sit with the regrowth for a bit longer and come in when the timing is actually right. The result will be dramatically better, and the appointment will be faster and more comfortable. Patience pays off here.

Timing by Area

Not every part of the body runs on the same clock. Here's a general guide based on what I see with my clients:
Brows — every 2 to 4 weeks. Facial hair tends to grow faster and the shape becomes noticeable sooner. Most people find three weeks is about right before things start to feel a little unruly.
Brazilian — every 4 to 6 weeks. This is the area where consistency really pays dividends over time. Clients who stay on schedule here see the most dramatic improvement in regrowth texture and density after several months.
Body waxing (legs, underarms, arms) — every 4 to 6 weeks. Similar rhythm to Brazilian, though some people find body hair grows a little more slowly and can stretch closer to six weeks comfortably.

These are starting points, not rules. Everyone's hair growth is a little different, and part of what I do is help each client figure out what schedule actually fits their body and lifestyle.

Building a Routine That Works for You

The clients who get the best long-term results from waxing are the ones who treat it like any other regular appointment — something they schedule ahead of time and stick to, rather than booking reactively when the regrowth is already bothering them.
Once you're on a consistent schedule, the appointments get quicker, the results get better, and the whole thing becomes genuinely low-maintenance. That's the goal: smooth skin that doesn't require a lot of effort to maintain.

If you're not sure what schedule makes sense for you, I'm always happy to talk through it at your appointment and help you figure out what will work best.
